On this page we will show you how to reset your 2Wire 2071-A router to it's original factory defaults. It is important to note that this is not the same as rebooting your router which is simply turning your router off and then back on again. Resetting your router erases all your configurations you have made.

Warning: Do not reset your router unless you have tried other methods of fixing your problem. The following is a partial list of some of the things that will be changed:

  • Your router username and password will be reset to the original factory settings.
  • If you use an Internet password this will also be reset.
  • The ISP username and password will need to be re-entered in order to use the Internet. If you are unsure of those you will need to call your ISP.
  • Any other settings you have made such as port forwards or firewalls will be erased. You have to reconfigure these after the reset.
