Some routers only choose one time when first turning on the router, and others change while on, causing possible problems.
  • In the next section titled Security, a small box that should have a check in it. It is enabling the Wireless Security.
  • The Authentication Type is next. We highly recommend setting this to WPA2-PSK. WPA2-PSK is the strongest encryption available today.
  • Below that is the Wireless Key. Check the box labeled Custom Encryption Key. Then below that, in the Key box, enter the password you want associated with your network. This password should not contain any dictionary words, or names and should have some capital letters and numbers in it.

Finally, click the Save button in the lower right corner of the page.
