  1. Turn Wireless ON. This should be on by default but if it is not, go ahead and click the choice labeled On.

Don't include any personal information in this name. For more information on how to create a good network name check out our wireless name guide.
  3. Secure your wireless network by clicking on the button next to Auto WPA or WPA2. Place a dot in the radio button labeled Auto WPA or WPA2.
  4. Select a Key. This is referring to the password you are to use when accessing your network. Place a dot in the radio button labeled Create a Auto WPA or WPA2 Key. Then below that is a box. Enter the password you wish to use to access your network. This is very important to the security of your internet. This password should be as long as possible and random. This password should not contain any personal information, or any words from any dictionary. Definitely include some symbols, numbers, and capital letters. We have a great guide on the subject if you need more help on how to choose a strong password.
  5. That's all there is on this page, go ahead and click the Apply button when you are finished.

On the WPA or WPA2 page:

  1. Select WPA or WPA2. WPA2 is a much stronger security measure than WEP or WPA. We strongly recommend choosing WPA2 Only. For more information on why, check out our guide on WEP vs. WPA.
  2. Enter the PSK for your network below. Below you should see a box with the words Pre-Shared Key (PSK) for Home Network. This is the password you entered on step 4 of the previous page. In the available box enter the same password you entered on the last page.
  3. When you are finished on this page be sure to click the Apply button.

If you want to change the SSID Broadcast, go ahead and click the option on the left titled SSID Broadcast.

  1. Set SSID mode. Click the Enable button to enable the broadcast, and Disable if you want to disable the broadcast. If your SSID is broadcast then your network name is visible to all surrounding WiFi networks. If your SSID is not broadcast, it is invisible to the general public but not to a hacker. A potential hacker has all the tools needed to see all networks in an area.
  2. When you are finished, click the Apply button at the bottom of the page.

Next, click the link in the left sidebar labeled Channel.
