In this guide we will walk you through the process of resetting the Actiontec R1000H FibreOP router. This is not the same thing as a reboot. A reboot is a cycle in the power to the device. You can do this by unplugging it and plugging it back in. A reset erases all your personalized settings and returns everything back to the factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting a router is a big step. You need to fully reconfigure the device afterwards. Some of the settings that need to be changed after a reset are:

  • The router's login username and password.
  • The router's Wi-Fi SSID/network name and password.
  • If this is a DSL router, you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for these details.
  • Any port forwarding, scheduling, or IP addresses you have changed.
