Setup WiFi on the Arris DG1660A

Login To The Arris DG1660A

We begin this guide on the Home page of the Arris DG1660A router. To start off click Wireless 2.4GHz near the top of the page and then Basic in the left hand sidebar.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Arris DG1660A

First you'll need to set a Wireless Network Name (SSID). This can be anything you want, however we highly recommend avoiding the use of any personal information. To learn more visit our Wireless Names Guide.

Next set the Security Mode to WPA2-PSK (AES). This will provide you with the strongest security. To learn more check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Finally you'll set a Pre-Shared Key. This will serve as your network password and can be whatever you like. Congratulations! That's it. Just don't forget to click Apply before leaving the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
