This is the reset guide for the Arris WTM652G router. Some of you may be confused about the difference between resetting a router and rebooting a router. Rebooting a router cycles the power to the device by turning it off and turning it back on again. Resetting your router erases everything you have done to the device and returns it to factory defaults.

Tip: Resetting this router is serious and should only be done once you know what will change when you are finished. Consider the following:

  • Your router's main username and password are reset.
  • All WiFi information such as SSID, password, and security are reset.
  • ISP info is erased so you may need to re-enter a username and password if you use DSL.
  • All configurations such as firewall changes, port forwards, or even IP address changes are erased.
