In this guide we will talk about how to reset the BEC-Technologies 5200W router to factory defaults. There is a lot of confusion between the terms reset and reboot. A reboot is cycling the power by turning the device off and back on again. A reset takes all your settings and returns them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting a router can cause problems if you are not aware of what settings are changed. We recommend making a list of the settings you know will change. Consider the following:

  • The router's main username and password are returned to factory defaults.
  • The WiFi SSID, password, and authentication method are erased and returned to defaults.
  • If you are using DSL you need to re-enter the ISP information. This includes a username and password. To know what these are you probably need to call your ISP.
  • All previously configured are erased. This could include port forwards, IP addresses, or maybe even firewall settings.
