How to Reset the Hitron Technologies CVW-30360

Have you tried to login to the Hitron-Technologies CVW-30360 router and been unsuccessful? It might be time to reset the Hitron-Technologies CVW-30360 router back to the original factory defaults.

A reset like the one I will be showing you is not the same thing as a reboot. A reboot is a cycle in the power to the unit. No changes are made to the router interface. A reset is a complete factory restore of all settings. Every setting you have ever changed is erased and reverted back to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and shouldn't be done without consideration of what happens. Make a list of all the settings you may of changed in the lifetime of the router such as:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The wireless information such as SSID and password.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. You must call your ISP for these details.
  • If you have made any other changes to your router write these down as well.

While the router is on take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you don't hold the reset button down for long enough you may end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.
