Setup WiFi on the Novatel-Wireless MiFi2200-VZW

Starting on the Home page of the Novatel-Wireless MiFi2200-VZW router, click the option at the top of the page labeled WiFi option at the top of the page.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Novatel-Wireless MiFi2200-VZW

On this new page, use the Network Name (SSID) to enter a new name for your network ID. While it really doesn't matter what you enter here it's a good idea to avoid personal information. Check out our Wireless Names Guide for more information.

The next setting is titled Channel. All that needs to be done here is check to see if you are using channels 1,6, or 11. To learn more about this, read our WiFi Channels Guide.

After that use the Security drop down list to choose the most secure option of security. We recommend using WPA2 Personal/PSK (AES). For more information on this read our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

The last thing you need to change is the Network Key. This is your network password and should be strong. We recommend using at least 14-20 characters with at least one symbol, number, and capital letter. Take a look at our Password Guide for more information.

Click the Apply button to save your changes and make this your new profile.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
