When setting up a home network, the most important device is the router. Whether you have a cable modem or DSL, all of your devices connect to the internet through your router. You need to learn to configure your router if you want to really customize your network.

How To Find Your VDC Routers IP Address

To begin logging in to your router you need to find it's Internal IP Address. This can be confusing because all routers have 2 IP addresses: an Internal IP Address, and an External IP Address. Right now, you are only concerned with the Internal IP Address. If you do not know your routers Internal IP Address, you can do one of the following:

Be sure to try every combination of username and password from this list in your router. If none of the username/password combinations work, then you may want to contact your ISP and ask them if they know.
