In this guide we will cover how to reset the Aolynk DR814 router to factory defaults. Resetting a router is different than rebooting it. When you reboot something you are cycling the power usually by turning it off and back on again. Resetting the router is almost as simply but has more consequences.
Warning: Resetting a router can cause unforeseen problems. Please consider the following before continuing.
- The router's main username and password are reset.
- If you use a DSL connection you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. If you are unsure of this information, call your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
- Any configurations you have made need to be entered again. This could include anything from port forwards to IP address changes.

Reset the Aolynk DR814
First of all make sure the router remains on during the reset process. If it gets turned off or unplugged it could cause permanent damage to the Aolynk DR814 router.
Secondly locate the tiny reset button on the back panel of your Aolynk DR814 router. We have circled the location for you in the image below.
Using a small object such as a pin or tip of a pencil press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.
Please remember that this reset will erase everything you have done previously to your router. Other troubleshooting methods should be tried first.
Login to the Aolynk DR814

Change Your Password
Next you should change this default password to something you create. It really doesn't matter what you change this to. If you need help coming up with a good password check out our Choosing a Strong Password guide.
Tip: Write this new router password down on a piece of paper and tape it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
