This page will show you how to setup a port forward on the Billion BiPAC-7800N router.
If you are not sure what port forwarding is you can read our What is Port Forwarding guide to help get started.
Port forwarding the Billion BiPAC-7800N to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.
Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.
To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Billion BiPAC-7800N router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.
To login to the Billion BiPAC-7800N, follow our Billion BiPAC-7800N Login Guide.
After you have logged into the Billion BiPAC-7800N you are taken to the Advanced Status page of your router. If you are not on the Advanced Status simply click Advanced on the left side of the page.
Click the blue link on the left side of the page labeled Configuration. This opens a new menu, click the new choice of Virtual Server and Port Forwarding.
Now to forward a port, make the following changes:
You are now on a new page like the one you see above. First, in the Application box enter the name of the program that you are forwarding these ports for. It is not important what you enter here so long as it reminds you of why you are forwarding these ports.
In the drop down box labeled Protocol choose the type of protocol you want to use when forwarding these ports.
Next is the External Port and the Redirect Port. If you are forwarding only one port, enter that port number into all four boxes or External and Redirect Ports. If you are going to be forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in both of the from boxes, and the highest number in both of the to boxes.
Below that is the Internal IP Address. Type in the IP address you are forwarding these ports to in this box. Don't forget that if you are forwarding a port to run a program on your PC, be sure to use that PC's IP Address here.
The last thing to fill in is the Time Schedule, this should be left at Always On.
Now that you are done, click the Add button. On some Billion routers there is a Save Config button at the bottom of the page, if there is one on your router, click this also.
That's it, you're done!
