Many ZyXEL routers are supplied by Internet providers. CenturyLink, Telus and many European ISPs hand them out, often under their own brand. ZyXEL also sells NBG and Armor routers, LTE and 5G routers, ZyWALL and USG firewalls, and Multy mesh systems. These guides cover all of them.

Which ZyXEL Interface Do You Have?
- Newer ZyXEL gateways (VMG, EMG, AMG, C1100Z, C3000Z, LTE and NR routers). They open on a Network Map, and the menu icon top right leads to Network Setting, Security, System Monitor and Maintenance.
- Older ZyXEL gateways (P-660, P-870, P-2602 and similar). They start with a choice of Wizard or Advanced setup, then have a menu down the left: Network, Security, Advanced and Maintenance.
- NBG and Armor routers have an Easy Mode and an Expert Mode. Use Expert Mode for the settings in these guides.
Default ZyXEL Login Details
Most ZyXEL devices are at 192.168.1.1. The classic default password is 1234, with the username admin. Newer gateways have a unique admin password printed on the label. See the ZyXEL passwords and ZyXEL IP address pages for each model.
