This guide takes you through the steps on resetting the 2Wire 5012NV-002 router. This reverts all the setting to the original factory defaults. This is different than rebooting the router which is turning it off and then on again to cycle the power.
Warning: Resetting your router is not something you should do very often. Everything you have done to your router will need to be reconfigured. The following is a partial list of the things you should consider before continuing.
- Your router's main username and password will be reset to the original factory defaults.
- The Wireless username and password will need to be re-entered for security reasons.
- You will need to re-enter the ISP username and password as well. These details can be found by contacting your ISP.
- All configurations such as parental controls, firewalls, and port forwards will all be undone.

Reset the 2wire 5012NV-002
First, with your router on, turn the 2Wire 5012NV-002 around so you are looking at the back of it.
Then taking the end of a paperclip or pen press and hold the RESET button for around 10 seconds.
Note: Resetting your 2Wire 5012NV-002 will erase all of your configurations. This should only be done as a last resort.
Login to the 2wire 5012NV-002

Change Your Password
