This guide shows you how to reset your Arcadyan VRV9517 router to factory default settings. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Every time your router loses power it reboots. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login credentials are reset.
- All WiFi login information and network names are reset.
- If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
- All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Reset the Arcadyan VRV9517

Most routers have a small button on either the back or the bottom. Look at your router and try to find something that looks like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.
Watch the lights on the front of your router and hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds. The lights on the front of the router should do something different when the reset happens. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Just don't forget that this will totally reset your Arcadyan VRV9517 router.

Change Your Password

Tip: Write your new password down on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
