This is the reset guide for the Arris TG3452 router. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. Unplugging a router from the wall reboots it. Resetting a router erases all settings from it and returns it to factory defaults.
Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. A router reset will affect the following settings:
- The router's login credentials are reset.
- All WiFi information such as network name, password, and authentication method are erased.
- Your ISP username and password will be reset, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
Since a router reset is such a drastic step, it should only be done as a last resort when you cannot recover your router's password using any other methods. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Do not do a full router reset until after you have tried every other option to log in to your router.
Reset the Arris TG3452
Most routers have a small button on either the back or the bottom. What you are looking for is something that looks like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds while watching the lights on the front of your router. You should notice that the blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router changes after a few seconds. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Remember, this will totally reset your Arris TG3452 router.
Only do this once you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
Login to the Arris TG3452
Now that you have finished resetting your router, you need to log in using the default username and password from the factory. Just follow our TG3452 Login Guide to find all of the information that you need.
Change Your Password
Be sure to change your router's default password after you get logged back in. It's a very bad idea to leave your router's password set to the factory default. You can follow our Choosing a Strong Password guide to help you pick a solid password for your router.
Tip: Write your new password down on a note and tape it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
