Here's how to log in to a BT router.
Step 1: Connect
Connect to the router's WiFi or plug a computer into one of its LAN ports with a network cable.
Step 2: Open the Login Page
Type http://192.168.1.254 (or http://bthomehub.home or http://bthub.home) into your browser's address bar. Some models use a different address. See the BT IP address page.
Step 3: Sign In
- Home Hub 3 and newer, and all Smart Hubs: no username, and the Admin Password on the hub's settings card or label.
- admin / admin: older Home Hubs and Voyager routers.
The admin password is on the pull-out settings card on the back of the hub (or on the label). It's different from the wireless key. The My BT app can also change most hub settings.
See every known default on the BT passwords page.
Step 4: You're In
Smart Hubs open on a page showing your connection, with Advanced Settings for wireless, broadband, firewall and home network settings.
BT Login Problems
The page won't load. Check that you're connected to the BT router (not a second router or extender), and run ipconfig to see its real address.
The password is rejected. Try each default above and the password on the label. Your ISP may have changed it, so check with them. If nothing works, reset the router.
