Here's how to log in to a Buffalo router.
Step 1: Connect
Connect to the router's WiFi or plug a computer into one of its LAN ports with a network cable.
Step 2: Open the Login Page
Type http://192.168.11.1 into your browser's address bar. Some models use a different address. See the Buffalo IP address page.
Step 3: Sign In
- root / blank: older AirStation routers.
- admin / password: newer AirStation routers.
- admin / admin: some models.
- root / admin: DD-WRT models, after you set it.
Newer AirStation routers print the login on a card or label that came with the router. On DD-WRT models, the first page asks you to create a username and password.
See every known default on the Buffalo passwords page.
Step 4: You're In
The standard AirStation interface has a simple Easy Setup page and an Advanced menu (Internet, LAN, Wireless, Security, Admin). DD-WRT models have the DD-WRT menu (Setup, Wireless, Services, Security, Administration, Status).
Buffalo Login Problems
The page won't load. Check that you're connected to the Buffalo router (not a second router or extender), and run ipconfig to see its real address.
The password is rejected. Try each default above and the password on the label. If nothing works, reset the router.
