Setup WiFi on the Digisol DG-HR1400

The Digisol DG-HR1400 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Wireless Name

Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

Login To The Digisol DG-HR1400

To get started configuring the Digisol DG-HR1400 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Digisol DG-HR1400

We begin this wireless setup guide on the Device Info page of the Digisol DG-HR1400 router. Start configuring your wireless settings by clicking Wireless near the top of the page. From here click Wireless Basics.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Digisol DG-HR1400

This takes you to a new page.

First you'll need to set a Name(SSID). This will be your wireless name and can be anything you like. However, due to security reasons, we strongly recommend that you avoid any personal information. To learn more be sure to see our Wireless Names Guide.

After that, open the drop down list labeled Channel and select 1, 6, or 11. Want to know why these are the best options? Read our WiFi Channels Guide.

Now make sure the Security Options is set to WPA2-PSK[AES]. This will give you the strongest security. For more information check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Finally, in the box marked Pre-Shared Key, enter your desired password. This can be whatever you want, however keep in mind that a strong password consists of 14-20 characters and includes no personal information. For more help take a look at our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

That's it! You're finished. Just be sure to Apply your changes before leaving the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
