Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink DIR-600 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

First, find an empty row of boxes, and check mark the small box on the left. This enables the rule you are about to create.

To the right of that, is the Name box. It's not very important what you enter here, so long as you can remember why you are forwarding these ports. We suggest entering the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for.

Below that is the IP Address. Enter the internal IP address of the computer you are forwarding these ports to. If you aren't sure how to find the computer's IP address, the What is my IP Address is a great guide on how to find the computer's internal IP address.

Now, enter the ports you want to forward in the box titled TCP, and again in the UDP box. You can enter these numbers as a list, like 22,23,26, or a range, 80-100, or even a combination of both, 22,25,80-100.

Use the Schedule drop down menu to choose Always.

Using the Inbound Filter drop down menu, select Allow All.

Click the Save Settings button when you are finished.

That's it, you're done!
