This takes you to a new page.

Begin by setting a Name(SSID). This can be whatever you like, however we strongly recommend avoiding any kind of personal information. To learn more, take a look at our Wireless Names Guide.

After that, open the drop down list labeled Channel and make sure it's set to either 1, 6, or 11. Why is this important? Read our WiFi Channels Guide to find out.

Now for the Security Options. This needs to be set to WPA2 Wireless Security (Enhanced). This will provide you with the strongest security. For more information, check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

The Cipher Type needs to be set to AES.

Following that, be sure that the option PSK/EAP is set to PSK.

Finally, you'll need to set a Network Key. This will be your network password, and can be anything you want. However, a strong password contains no personal information and is 14-20 characters in length. For more helpful tips like these, be sure to take a look at our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

When you're happy with these settings, be sure to click Apply near the bottom of the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
