On this page I will be explaining how to reset the Dlink DNS-323-1TB if you cannot access the interface of the device. What you are going to be doing is not a reboot which is simply cycling the power. You are going to be doing a reset which is taking all the settings inside of the interface and erasing them all reverting them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this unit is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of the settings that need to be reconfigured after the reset is complete. Consider the following:

  • The unit's main username and password used to access the user interface is erased and put back to how they were from the factory.
  • If you have ever setup a FTP in the unit or changed the network access settings you need to reconfigure them after the reset is complete.

According to the manual the hard drives will not be affected by this reset. If you are worried about it you should definitely remove any hard drives before continuing.
