On this page I will be showing you how to properly reset the Dlink DPG-2000W presentation gateway. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When I use the word reboot I am referring to a cycle in the power to the device. When I use the word reset I am referring to a complete factory restore of all settings you have changed.

Warning: This erases all settings you have changed during the lifetime of this device. A reset is a major step in problem solving and should not be taken lightly. Things to consider are:

  • The wireless encryption you had setup for security is erased and needs to be reconfigured.
  • The web interface access username and password are erased and reverted back to factory defaults.
  • If you use a DSL connection you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. If you need to do this you'll need to call your ISP for the details.
  • Any other settings you have changed are erased. Be sure to write these down so you can reconfigure them later.
