How to Reset the Dlink DWL-3200APv2

On this page I will be showing you how to reset the Dlink DWL-3200APv2 router back to it's original factory defaults. A reset like this is nothing like a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the unit. When you reset a router you take every setting you have ever changed, erases them and returns them back to original factory values.

Warning: Resetting a router is huge step in solving a problem you are experiencing with your router. Do not take a reset lightly. We recommend making a list of any settings you may have changed in the past. This should include:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The Internet name and password.
  • The ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password if this is a DSL router. Call your ISP for the details.
  • Any port forwards, IP address changes, DNS changes ... etc.

Reset the Dlink DWL-3200APv2

The first step in a reset is to find the reset button on the back panel of the unit. I have found an image for you and circled the location of the reset button for you.

While the router is on take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. This begins the reset process. If you don't hold the reset button down for the entire 10 seconds you may only reboot the router instead of resetting like you wanted.

Please remember a reset like this one will erase every single setting you have ever changed on the unit. We recommend exhausting other troubleshooting methods before you continue with this reset.

Login to the Dlink DWL-3200APv2

Once you've reset the Dlink DWL-3200APv2 router you'll want to log into it. This is accomplished by using the factory default username and password provided for you in our Login Guide.

Change Your Password
