A factory reset puts your Edimax router back to its default settings and the admin / 1234 login.
Before You Reset
A reset erases your Internet settings, WiFi and port forwards. Write them down first.
Method 1: The Reset Button
- With the router on, press and hold the Reset (or Reset/WPS) button for about 10 seconds, until the power light flashes.
- Let go and wait about a minute.
On many Edimax routers the reset button is also the WPS button. A short press starts WPS instead of resetting, so hold it for the full 10 seconds.
Method 2: Reset From the Web Interface
Log in and go to Management > Factory Default (on older models, Tools > Configuration Tools > Reset to Factory Default). Click Apply.
After the Reset
Log in at http://192.168.2.1 with admin / 1234, run the Setup Wizard, and set up your WiFi.
