How to Reset the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7390

On this page I will be showing you how to properly reset the FRITZ WLAN-7390 router back to it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the unit. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return them all back to how they were from the factory.

Warning: This is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend creating a list of settings that may of been changed in the past such as:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • Any wireless information such as name and password.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider username and password. Call your ISP for the details.
  • If you have made any other changes they need to be written down as well.

Reset the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7390

To reset the FRITZ WLAN-7390 you need to use a telephone handset that works with the FRITZ WLAN-7390 router.

Pick up the handset and key in #991*15901590* then hang up the telephone.

Remember this reset is going to erase every single setting you have ever changed in the history of the FRITZ WLAN-7390. We highly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you reset.

Login to the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7390

Following that you'll need to log into your FRITZ WLAN-7390 router. This can be accomplished by using the factory default username and password provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Change Your Password

Once you've reset and logged into your router you'll want to set a new password for it. Remember that this password will protect your router settings, not your wireless network. Still, it's always a wise choice to set a strong password. For help in doing so be sure to check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a note and taping it to the underside of your router.
