If you need to reset your HughesNet HT2000 router back to factory settings, then this article shows you how. A router reset is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Every time your router loses power it reboots. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login credentials are reset.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- All ISP settings will reset to default, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- Any port forwards, firewall settings, or parental controls that you have configured will be removed.
Resetting your router should be considered the last step. Before you reset your router, you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

Reset the HughesNet HT2000
On most routers you can find a small button on the back or the bottom labeled reset. Look for something that looks like this:
Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. Sometimes the reset button is under a pinhole on the back of the router, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. You should notice that the blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router changes after a few seconds. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Remember, this will erase everything you have previously done to this HughesNet HT2000 router.

Login to the HughesNet HT2000

Change Your Password

Tip: Write your new password down on a note and tape it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
