In this article, you will learn how to reset your Humax HG100R-02JG back to factory settings. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. Rebooting a router is simply turning it off and back on again. However, when you reset a router you, return it back to its factory default settings.

Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. When you reset your router, the following will happen.

  • The router's login and password are reset.
  • All WiFi information such as network name, password, and authentication method are erased.
  • If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
  • Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.

Since a router reset is such a drastic step, it should only be done as a last resort when you cannot recover your router's password using any other methods. Before you reset your router, you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

Reset the Humax HG100R-02JG

You can usually find a small reset button on either the back or the bottom of a router. Look for something that looks like this:

Router Reset Button

Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. If you find a pinhole on the back of the router then that may be the reset button. You will need a paper clip to push it.

Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. The blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router should change when the reset is complete. You can hold the button down as long as you like, it will not hurt anything.

Keep in mind that this will completely reset your Humax HG100R-02JG router.

This last step should only be taken if you have tried everything else, such as using our Router Password Finder software, which can recover lost or forgotten router passwords.
