If you have been trying to login to the Legrand On-Q DA1004 router without any success it might be time to consider resetting the device back to the original factory defaults.

In this guide when I use the term reset I am referring to a full factory restore of all settings. I am not referring to a reboot which is a simple cycle in the power to the unit.

Warning: Resetting this device is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of all the settings you may of changed in the past. Some of these settings are:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • What other settings have you changed in the past? How about IP addresses or port forwards?

While the device is on take a straightened paperclip or similar object and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you don't hold this button down for the entire 10 seconds you may end up rebooting the device instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Warning: Do not unplug or turn off the router/switch during the reset process! Doing so can cause permanent damage to the device.

Remember a reset like the one described in this guide will erase any personalization you done to the device. We strongly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you continue with a reset.

Login to the Legrand On-Q DA1004

After you've successfully reset your Legrand On-Q DA1004 router you'll need to log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where you can find these? Not to worry. We have them provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't working for you it could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Now that you've logged into your router you'll want to set a new password for your router. This can be anything you like, however bear in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and contains no personal information. For more help be sure to take a look through our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a sticky note and attaching it to the bottom of your router.
