Have you been trying to login to the LG LRG1004 router without success? It might be time to consider a reset. A reset like the one I am showing you here is not the same as a reboot. When I use the term reboot I am referring to a cycle in the power to the unit. When I use the term reset I am referring to a full restore of all the settings.

Warning: Resetting the LG LRG1004 router is a big step. We strongly recommend creating a list making a list of all the settings you have ever changed in the past. Don't remember? The following list will help:

  • The router's main interface username and password are erased and reverted back to factory defaults.
  • Any port forwards you may of made.
  • Have you changed any IP addresses?

Reset the LG LRG1004

Unfortunately we don't have an image of the reset button to show you. According to my research on the LG LRG1004 router it should be on the back panel.

While the router is on, take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds to begin the reset process. If you don't hold the reset button down long enough you end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Caution: Do not unplug or turn off the router during the reset process! Doing so could permanently damage the router.

Remember a reset like this one erases every single setting you have ever changed in the past. We highly recommend trying other troubleshooting methods before continuing.

Login to the LG LRG1004

Now that you've reset and logged into your LG LRG1004 router you'll need to log into it. This is accomplished by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where you can find these? We have them provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't working for you it might be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Following that we recommend setting a new password for your router. This can be whatever you want, however bear in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and includes no personal information. For more help be sure to take a look through our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a slip of paper and attaching it to the bottom of your router.
