Start off by setting a Network name. This can be whatever you like, however it would be wise to avoid any personal information. To learn more, take a look at our Wireless Names Guide.

Now you need to set a Password. A strong password contains no personal information and is 14-20 characters in length. For more helpful tips, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Below that is the Security mode. Make sure this is set to WPA2 Personal. This will provide your network with the best security. Curious to learn more? See our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Finally, open the drop down menu labeled Channel and select either 1, 6, or 11. To find out why these are the best options, read our WiFi Channels Guide.

And that's all there is to it. Just be sure to click Apply before leaving the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
