Find Your Netgate pfSense Router IP Address
In order to login to the Netgate pfSense router, we need to know it's internal IP address.

Pick one of these IP addresses and then follow the rest of this guide.
If later on in this guide you do not find your router using the IP address that you pick, then you can try different IP addresses until you get logged in. I will not hurt anything to try different IP addresses.
If you try all of the above IP addresses and still cannot find your router, then try the following:

The next step is to try logging in to your router.
Login to the Netgate pfSense Router
The Netgate pfSense router has a web-based interface. The way you manage it is by using a web browser like Firefox, Edge, or Chrome.
Enter Netgate pfSense Internal IP Address
Find the address bar in your web browser and type in the internal IP address of your Netgate pfSense router. The address bar looks like this:

Press the Enter key on your keyboard. You should see a window pop up asking you for your Netgate pfSense password.
Netgate pfSense Default Username and Password
You must know your Netgate pfSense username and password in order to log in. If you are not sure what the username and password are, then perhaps they are still set to the factory defaults. Below is a list of all known Netgate pfSense default usernames and passwords.

Put your username and password in the appropriate boxes. Put your username and password in the appropriate boxes.
Netgate pfSense Home Screen
After you get logged in you should see the Netgate pfSense home screen, which looks like this:
When you see this screen, then you are logged in to your Netgate pfSense router. Now you can follow any of our other guides for this router.

Here are some ideas to help if you are having problems getting logged in to your router.
Netgate pfSense Password Doesn't Work
It's possible that your router's factory default password is different than what we have listed. It doesn't hurt to try all of the other known Netgate passwords. Head over to our list of all Netgate Passwords.
Forgot Password to Netgate pfSense Router
If your Internet Service Provider supplied you with your router, then you might want to try giving them a call and see if they either know what your router's username and password are, or maybe they can reset it for you.
How to Reset the Netgate pfSense Router To Default Settings
If you still cannot get logged in, then you are probably going to have to reset your router to its default settings. The last option when you are unable to get logged in to your router is to reset it to the factory defaults.
