This guide shows you how to reset your Netgear Nighthawk RAX43 router to factory default settings. Resetting a router is different than rebooting a router. Unplugging a router from the wall reboots it. A Router Reset completely erases the router and returns it to factory settings.
Warning: Since this erases everything you have done to the router, there are some things you need to consider first. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's username and password are reset.
- All WiFi information such as network name, password, and authentication method are erased.
- Your ISP settings are reset, which means you will have to contact your ISP to get them back.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
Resetting your router should be considered the last step. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Recover Password in Netgear Nighthawk RAX43

A router reset should be the last thing you try if you are unable to login.
Reset the Netgear Nighthawk RAX43
Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. A typical reset button looks like this:
Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.
Watch the front panel lights while you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds. You should notice that the blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router changes after a few seconds. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your Netgear Nighthawk RAX43 router back to factory settings.

Login to the Netgear Nighthawk RAX43

Change Your Password

Tip: Write your new password down on a note and tape it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
