In this article, you will learn how to reset your Netgear R7450 back to factory settings. Resetting a router is different than rebooting a router. Unplugging a router from the wall reboots it. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings will be changed in your router:
- The router's login and password are reset.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, or port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Reset the Netgear R7450
On most routers you can find a small button on the back or the bottom labeled reset. Look at your router and try to find something that looks like this:
Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. Sometimes the reset button is under a pinhole on the back of the router, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. You should notice that the blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router changes after a few seconds. It is harmless to hold the reset button too long.
Just don't forget that this will totally reset your Netgear R7450 router.

Login to the Netgear R7450

Change Your Password
