Setup WiFi on the Netgear WPN824N

The wireless setup guide begins on the Basic Settings page of the Netgear WPN824N router. To get to the proper page click the option of Wireless Settings in the left sidebar under the main heading of Setup.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Netgear WPN824N

Once you are on this page, enter a new name for your network in the box labeled Name(SSID). This is the name you give your network for identification. It doesn't really matter what you enter here but we recommend avoiding personal information.

Next is the Channel. Make sure you are using channels 1,6, or 11.

After that, skip down to the Security Options. There are several different security choices here. We recommend the choice of WPA2-PSK[AES].

The last setting is titled the Passphrase. This is the password and should be strong. This acts as your network key. Create a unique password of at least 14 to 20 characters with at least one number, symbol, and capital letter.

Click the Apply button to save your changes.

That's it, you are finished.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
