The wireless setup guide starts on the Home page of the Novatel-Wireless MIFI-4510L router. Begin by clicking the option in the red bar at the top of the page labeled Wi-Fi.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Novatel-Wireless MIFI-4510L

  • The Profile should be set to Secure.
  • Use the Network Name (SSID) to choose a creative name for your network. It's not important what you enter here but it's a good idea to avoid personal information. Check out our Wireless Names Guide for more information.
  • Now skip down to the Channel. All you need to do here is check to see if you are using one of the best three channels, 1,6, or 11. Read our WiFi Channels Guide for more information.
  • Next check to see what Security you are using. The most secure option is WPA2 Personal/PSK (AES) and this is what we recommend. Take a look at our WEP vs. WPA Guide for more information.
  • The last setting that needs to be changed is titled the Network Key. This is the network password. This should be at least 14 to 20 characters in length with some numbers, capital letters, and symbols mixed in for strength. For further help with this topic, refer to our Password Guide.
  • This is the Wi-Fi profile you will normally use so click the Apply button which will save your changes and make this profile the one you use.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
