In this guide I will show you how to reset your Sagemcom Fast 3686 V3ch Com Hem router back to factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot a router you are simply cycling the power to the device. A factory reset on the other hand erases all your previously configured settings and reverts them to factory defaults.
Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be done unless you have exhausted all your other options first. Settings that will be changed are:
- The router's login username and password.
- The Internet protection username and password.
- If you have a DSL Internet connection you probably need the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for this info.

Take a straightened paperclip or other sharp object and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. This starts the reset process which can sometimes take several minutes to finish.
