In this article, you will learn how to reset your Technicolor TG852n back to factory settings. A router reset is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: Make sure that you fully understand the following before resetting your router. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login and password are reset.
- Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.
- If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
- All port forwards, firewall settings, and parental controls that you have configured will be removed.

Reset the Technicolor TG852n
On most routers you can find a small button on the back or the bottom labeled reset. What you are looking for is something that looks like this:
Your reset button may look different, but usually they are very small. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. Do not worry about holding the button down too long; this is harmless.
