This is the reset guide for the TP-Link 100v router. A router reset is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. When you reset your router, the following will happen.
- The router's username and password are reset to factory defaults.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- Your ISP settings are reset, which means you will have to contact your ISP to get them back.
- All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.
Resetting your router should be considered the last step. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Reset the TP-Link 100v

Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. Look at your router and try to find something that looks like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. If you find a pinhole on the back of the router then that may be the reset button. You will need a paper clip to push it.
Watch the front panel lights while you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. It is harmless to hold the reset button too long.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your TP-Link 100v router back to factory settings.
Only do this once you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
Login to the TP-Link 100v
Now that you have finished resetting the router, you need to login to the router interface using the default username and password. Our 100v Login Guide has all of the information that you need.
Change Your Password
Do not forget to change your router's default password when you log back into it. The factory default passwords for routers are very well known. You can follow our Choosing a Strong Password guide to help you pick a solid password for your router.
Tip: Write your new password down on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
