This guide shows you how to reset your TP-Link Archer C6 v2.0 router. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. Rebooting a router is simply turning it off and back on again. A Router Reset completely erases the router and returns it to factory settings.
Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. When you reset your router, the following will happen.
- The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
- Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.
- If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

A router reset should be the last thing you try if you are unable to login.
Reset the TP-Link Archer C6 v2.0
Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. Look for something that looks like this:
Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds while watching the lights on the front of your router. Notice how the lights on the front of the router are blinking. When the lights do something different, the router is reset. You can hold the button down as long as you like, it will not hurt anything.
Just don't forget that this will totally reset your TP-Link Archer C6 v2.0 router.

Login to the TP-Link Archer C6 v2.0

Change Your Password
Be sure to change your router's default password after you get logged back in. Leaving a router password set to default is a very serious security risk. You can follow our Choosing a Strong Password guide to help you pick a solid password for your router.
Tip: Put your new password on a post-in note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
