Reset the Trendnet TEW-231BRP

This is the reset guide for the Trendnet TEW-231BRP router. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Every time your router loses power it reboots. Resetting a router erases all settings from it and returns it to factory defaults.

Warning: Since this erases everything you have done to the router, there are some things you need to consider first. The following settings will be changed in your router:

  • The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
  • Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.
  • All ISP settings will reset to default, and you may have to contact your ISP.
  • Any port forwards, firewall settings, or parental controls that you have configured will be removed.

Resetting your router should be considered the last step. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Reset the Trendnet TEW-231BRP

On most routers you can find a small button on the back or the bottom labeled reset. Most reset buttons look like this:

Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.

Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds while watching the lights on the front of your router. The blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router should change when the reset is complete. It is harmless to hold the reset button too long.

Just don't forget that this will totally reset your Trendnet TEW-231BRP router.

Login to the Trendnet TEW-231BRP

Change Your Password
