Setup WiFi on the Trendnet TEW-452BRP

The Trendnet TEW-452BRP router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Use a VPN

This wireless setup guide begins on the Home page of the TRENDnet TEW-452BRP router. To start setting up your router, click the tab labeled Wireless tab on the left hand side of the page.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Trendnet TEW-452BRP

You should now see the page above.

Start off by entering your desired network name into the box labeled SSID. This can be anything you like, but we recommend avoiding any personal information. For more tips on creating a network name, check out our guide.

Now open the drop down menu marked Channel and select either 1, 6, 11. To learn why this is important, see our WiFi Channels Guide.

When you're happy with these settings, click Apply at the bottom of the page.

Now click the option labeled Authentication at the top of the page.

Now we need to set your security. There are several different options for security, check out this guide for more details.

For maximum security, you should select WPA2-PSK. Unfortunately, this router doesn't support that option. Because of this, we recommend that you update your firmware.

Finally you need to enter your desired password into the box labeled Passphrase, and then once more into the box marked Confirmed Passphrase. For helpful tips on creating a strong password, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

And you're done! Just make sure to click Apply before leaving the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
