Reset the Trendnet TEW-655BR3G

This article covers how to reset the Trendnet TEW-655BR3G router back to factory default settings. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Every time your router loses power it reboots. However, when you reset a router you, return it back to its factory default settings.

Warning: Make sure that you fully understand the following before resetting your router. When you reset your router, the following will happen.

  • The router's login credentials are reset.
  • Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.

  • Any parental controls, firewall settings, or port forwards will be removed.

Reset the Trendnet TEW-655BR3G

There is usually a small reset button located on either the back or the bottom of a router. What you are looking for is something that looks like this:

Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. If you find a pinhole on the back of the router then that may be the reset button. You will need a paper clip to push it.

Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. Do not worry about holding the button down too long; this is harmless.
