In this article, you will learn how to reset your Ubiquiti EdgeRouter POE back to factory settings. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. A router reset will affect the following settings:
- The router's login credentials are reset to factory defaults.
- All WiFi login information and network names are reset.
- Your ISP username and password will be reset, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.
Since a router reset is such a drastic step, it should only be done as a last resort when you cannot recover your router's password using any other methods. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Reset the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter POE

Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. Look at your router and try to find something that looks like this:
Your reset button may look different, but usually they are very small. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.
Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. The blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router should change when the reset is complete. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Remember, this will totally reset your Ubiquiti EdgeRouter POE router.
This last step should only be taken if you have tried everything else, such as using our Router Password Finder software, which can recover lost or forgotten router passwords.
Login to the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter POE

Change Your Password

Tip: Put your new password on a post-in note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
