You should now be on the page you see above.

Start by deciding on a Network Name. This can be anything you like, however we suggest avoiding any personal information due to security reasons. To learn more, see our Wireless Names Guide.

Following that, on the left hand side of the page, open the drop down menu labeled Type and set it to WPA. This will provide you with the best security. How? Read our WEP vs. WPA Guide to find out.

Now, beneath the Private Broadcast heading, enter your network name into the box marked Broadcast SSID.

After that, enter your desired network password into the box labeled WPA Key. We know a strong password can be difficult to think up on your own, so we've created a Choosing a Strong Password Guide to help you out.

Lastly, make sure that the Encryption Type is set to AES.

Congratulations! That's all there is to it. Just don't forget to click Save before closing the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
