Most routers and cameras come from the factory with a default password set in them. You can usually find this password in the manual that comes with the router. If you've lost your manual then you might need to look your router's default password up.
Internet connected cameras and DVRs also come with a default password. If you ever want to login to your IP camera then you'll need to know the password.
We have collected 3 password lists that might be useful when trying to find a default router or camera password.
Password Lists
You might need to look up a default password because:
- Your router or camera is brand new and still has the default
- You never changed the default password
- You reset your router or camera
The Internet Leaked Passwords list is helpful as a last resort. If you have changed your router's password and then later forgot it you might want to skim this list. Maybe you'll see something on there that reminds you of theÃâàpassword that you set.
If you are really stuck and can not remember your router or camera password then you might want to try Find Password. The Find Password App can automate the process of finding a lost or forgotten password on routers and security cameras.
Choosing a Strong Password
If you are setting a password on a device it's a good idea to look at these lists and choose a password that is not on them. You might also want to check out How To Choose a Strong Password.
