This guide will take you through the steps on resetting your 2Wire 2701HG-G Qwest router. When you reset your router it returns to it's initial factory defaults. This is completely different than rebooting your router which consists of turning it off and then back on again.

Warning: Do not take this lightly. Resetting your router requires you to reconfigure your router as if you just bought it from the store. Here is a list of some of the things you need to consider:

  • Your router username and password will be restored to the original factory defaults.
  • The WiFi username and password will be reset.
  • Any ISP username and password will need to be re-entered as well. Call your ISP for these if you are unsure.
  • Any additional configurations such as firewall settings or port forwards will need to be re-entered.
