How to Reset the 2wire 2701HGV-W

This page guides you through resetting your 2Wire 2701HGV-W router. When you reset the 2Wire router it returns to the original factory defaults. This is not the same as rebooting your router which is cycling the power by turning if off and back on again.

Warning: Resetting your router is a serious step. There are several things to consider before continuing:

  • The router username and password will be reset to the factory defaults.
  • The WiFi username and password will return to factory defaults.
  • You will need to re-enter the ISP username and password. Call your ISP for more details.
  • All configurations you have made to your router such as port forwards, parental settings and the like will need to be entered again.

Now take a pen or the end of a paperclip and press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.

This erases all of your settings so this should only be done after all other troubleshooting options have be tried.

Change Your Password
