This guide shows you how to reset your 2Wire 3600HGV router. When you reset this router it goes back to the original factory defaults. This is completely different than rebooting the router which is only turning it off and back on again.
Warning: Resetting your router should not be done often or without care. The following list contains some of the settings that will be changed by resetting the 2Wire router.
- The router's main username and password
- The Internet's name and password
- The ISP username and password. If you are unsure of these call your ISP.
- Any additional configurations such as firewalls or port forwards.

Reset the 2wire 3600HGV
While your router is still on turn it over so you are looking at the back of it.
Now use a pen or the end of a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.
Note: This is going to erase all of your settings. Do not reset your router until you have tried all other options.
Login to the 2wire 3600HGV
Once you have reset your router it is as if you just got if from the factory. You will need to login to the router to make some changes. To login in now that it is reset you need to know the default username and password. Our 2Wire Login Guide can help if you need it.
Change Your Password
After logging into the 2Wire 3600HGV router you need to change the default router password. If you need help coming up with a good password check out this Choosing a Strong Password guide.
Tip: Write down the new password you just created on a post-it note and attach it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
Setup WiFi on the 2Wire 3600HGV Router
