This guide shows you how to reset your A-Link RR24API router to it's original factory defaults. Resetting the router is different than rebooting the router which is simply turning it off and then back on again.
Warning: Resetting your router has consequences which you may be unaware of. We have created a list of some things that will be changed when resetting the router.
- First of all your router's main username and password are reset to factory defaults.
- Your wireless username and password are also reset. This means you need to create new ones after the reset is finished.
- The ISP username and password are erased. You will need to re-enter these in order to connect to the Internet. For info on this you will need to call your ISP.
- Any other changes you have made to your router will be erased. This includes any firewalls or port forwards you have previously created.

Reset the A-Link RoadRunner 24API
Use a VPN Instead

While the A-Link RR24API router is turned on, flip the router over so you are looking at the back of it.
Using the end of a paperclip or other small object press and hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.
This resets your router to the original factory defaults. Since this erases everything you have done to the A-Link RR24API you should try other troubleshooting options first.
Login to the A-Link RoadRunner 24API

Change Your Password
After logging into the A-Link RR24API using the default username and password you should change that password to one of your choice. We have made a Password Guide for you if you need help.
Tip: After creating this new password make sure to write it down on a piece of paper and stick it to the bottom of the router for future reference.
Setup the WiFi on the A-Link RR24API
